Zulu Alpha - Leather Documentary

Documentary

The Brief

Zulu Alpha, a company founded by Royal Navy Veteran Darren Caplan, specialises in high-quality watch straps repurposed from materials such as old SA80 rifle slings. With plans to launch a new line of leather products, they approached us to produce a cinematic documentary that explores the history of leather. Their goal was to create engaging content that would support their product launch and drive social media engagement.

Our Approach

Working in partnership with our friends at Addvert, we developed the documentary's narrative and storyboarded every shot to ensure efficiency during the shoot days. During the two-day shoot in Birmingham, we focused on achieving a cinematic style through a focus on lighting. We planned for a range of lighting setups to ensure we could capture the desired aesthetic and mood for each scene, enhancing the overall visual appeal of the documentary.

The Result

The video played a crucial role in the successful launch of their new leather straps, generating significant engagement on Instagram. The high-quality production and compelling narrative not only met but exceeded the client’s expectations, enhancing Zulu Alpha's brand image and establishing a strong connection with their audience.
